Burning Fire is the first novel in this series. It traces the life of Hank Wahlberg who grew up in Northern Minnesota with a passion for fishing and an appreciation of nature. Later, as an adult, he transforms his love of fishing into a business career. He becomes obsessed with the possibility of catching a world record northern pike. He travels to remote places while pursuing that dream, which eventually leads him to Lake Keezheekoni in Northern Ontario. Like many of us, Hank faces hardships, setbacks, and learns many important lessons as he ages. He trusts people to a fault and this belief almost destroys him. He met his soul mate, Lydia, after years of being a confirmed workaholic having little time for personal relationships. Lydia has a profound and positive influence in his life, as he begins to appreciate the tremendous strength found in a family.

Cartel Chaos features the Mexican drug cartel Farmaco extending its lethal talons into the lives of Hank Wahlberg and his business partner and life-long friend Winston Farrell. Winnie also continues his relentless obsession of getting even with Hank Wahlberg by conceiving a new fail-proof plan of avengence. The Wahlberg's children, Tony and Mellissa are attending college. Tony is on his way to becoming a veterinarian and Mellissa has started her pre-med studies at Duke University. Mellissa, through no fault of her own, becomes a pawn in Winnie Farrell's final attempt to even the score with her father. In the end, Keezheekoni's translation from Ojibwe is clearly understood: burning fire.
